WHAT IS A TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY (TBI)?
A traumatic brain injury is due to a physical force (external) to the brain, aside from any congenital cause (involving genetics). The injury would have to affect total or partial functioning. The injury would have to significantly affect the child's education to be considered as a disability area in education.
Criteria Checklist
The criteria checklist for a Traumatic Brain Injury Impairment, is used and completed during the evaluation meeting. These checklists will guide the team in determining whether or not the child meets criteria for the disability or disabilities being evaluated.
