WHAT IS A EMOTIONAL BEHAVIORAL DISABILITY (EBD)?
A student with an emotional behavioral disability will frequently demonstrate a severe and chronic behavior in at least two different environments (i.e. home and school). The behavior in question would interfere with the student's ability to preserve social relationships and alienation from social situations. Constant physical aggression and/or aggressive behavior may be present or an inappropriate reaction to normal situations.
Criteria Checklist
The criteria checklist for Emotional Behavioral Disability, is used and completed during the evaluation meeting. These checklists will guide the team in determining whether or not the child meets criteria for the disability or disabilities being evaluated.
