WHAT IS AN INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY?
A intellectual disability is when a student has an IQ score and adaptive functioning of 70 or below on a standardize assessments. A student with an intellectual disability are significantly below average in some or all developmental skills (which include social and adaptive). They will struggle with academic skills, adaptive and functional skills, social skills, language skills, and communication skills.
Criteria Checklist
The criteria checklist for a Intellectual Disability, is used and completed during the evaluation meeting. These checklists will guide the team in determining whether or not the child meets criteria for the disability or disabilities being evaluated.
