WHAT IS AN ORTHOPEDIC IMPAIRMENT?
This is an impairment of the body and/or bones. It may be present at birth (i.e. cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy) or due to severe trauma (i.e. amputations). The impairment has to critically impact the child's education.
Criteria Checklist
The criteria checklist for a Orthopedic Impairment, is used and completed during the evaluation meeting. These checklists will guide the team in determining whether or not the child meets criteria for the disability or disabilities being evaluated.
